Is Your Teen Struggling In School?

By

A Note From The Los Angeles Teen Therapist

As children transition from middle school to high school, the increased academic expectations can cause some students to fall behind. Read on for ways to help you teen overcome their challenges. – Sandra

  • Is your teenager struggling academically?
  • Could your adolescent have a learning disorder?
  • Is there a plan at the school to help your teen succeed?

REACH OUT TO THE SCHOOL:
The first step is for us to determine whether your teen needs an Individualized Education Program (IEP) is to understand when the challenges began showing up. Sometimes the solution can be as simple as asking teachers to spend a little extra time with your teen.

IS YOUR TEEN ELIGIBLE FOR SPECIAL SERVICES?
If extra time with the teacher does not solve the problem, we can request that your teen be evaluated by the Child Study Team in your school (or district). Special testing can be done to assess your teen to determine where any issues or deficits exist.

If your teen is struggling academically, I can help you to discover the cause and remedy it. I invite you take that critical next step, and allow me to demonstrate the support I can offer to you and your family.
